So today I decided that try out a new church in the area. We have found a church that we love and go to regularly, but Shane had to work today, my car had just been fixed, so i didn't want to drive to far, so I thought, I will try out a church around here!! I ended up going to two church services today, but didn't hear a complete message! The first church I went to started off ok. They were playing some current worship songs that I liked. Well Owen started to wander and want to play, so I took off for the nursey. I found it, but they were all in one room, singing and dancing and there was nobody there to check us in. It looked really fun too....but since I coudln't find anyone I decided to go back to the auditorium. Well, I looked through the window to see if they were still in worship, and the worship leader was face down, on the ground, talking or singing about something. Now, don't get me wrong, I believe in the power of the Holy Sprirt and sometimes that power lays you down! But this was not what was happening...in my opinion. I kinda felt like unless I signed something in blood, I wasn't allowed to be at this church! i passed many people, and not one said hi to me, or asked me if i needed help with anything! So...Owen and I took off! I remember another church that Shane and I had found when were looking for apartments, and I decided to go there....since they didn't start till 11:30. It is a very big church, I took Owen to the nursery, he seemed fine, and I went to find my seat. The worship team was awesome, great songs, great musicians...however, this church seemed to be more interested in the social aspect of church, rather than praising the Lord! The couple in front of me clearly had another agenda...the lady kept feeling up her husbands butt and putting her hand down the back of his pants......akward! And not only that, they were carrying on a very long conversation, rather than singing!! And they were not the only ones! I couldn't help but think of how big of a shame it was! Here they are with a big beautiful church, with this amazing worship music surrounding them, and they didn't appreciate it. I felt like everyone thought they were at a concert, rather than a worship service! After every song, they would clap, and not a clap unto the Lord, it was a clap like "yay, you guys did such a good job!!!" lol it was very strange! I tried to just tune them all out, and I did manage to have my own time of worship, but I couldn't help but observe this! Then of course, Owen's nursery number pops up on the screen! Which, i knew it would, I was surprised I got as much time as i did in the church service! So I went and got him, and we tried to go back into the service, and he did really well for a little bit! Then we had to walk around, he got restless.....after a few mins of not hearing the service, and chasing after Owen...we left! So i attempted to go to church, failed two times, but I deffintly made me appreciate what Shane and I have at Life Church! That is for sure!!
I hope that whoever is reading this, and goes to church, is not one of those people I was talking about that just seems to be there to chit chat with their friends!! Church is supposed to be so much more than that, whether it is church at your home with just your family or a big congregation. Churches get such a bad rap, so many people are turned off to going to church, even believers like me, sometimes dont want to go due t o this. But I believe it is supper important and it is somethign I want my family to be apart of!!
On a lighter note, Owen is cuter than ever!! He is signing, and talking away!!! Kisses everything in sight...well mainly us and stuffed animals....and his own reflection :) He catches on super super fast....sorta scary!!!!
Have a great week everyone!!!
Be blessed,
Amanda
Welcome to my little corner of the blog world. It's mainly a way for me to document our life, it may be exciting and sometimes not. Mainly what you will find here is my journey in motherhood, the good and the bad. What I am learning along the way and all the crazy, mundane, or excitement that comes with it.

Hello blog world!
Hello out there!! This is my first blog ever, and I am not really sure what I will be writing about...I am guessing mainly Owen, but who knows! I wanted to start this blog so I can share even more about my life with my family and friends. Sometimes I find my self thinking about things in life and think to myself that i wish i could share this with others, or see what other people think! Yes, I tell Shane or my parents and friends, but i thought this might be a good way for people who don't know me very well, to get to know me better!
Anyways! 2010 is over and 2011 is already off to a roaring start!!! 2010 was a fantastic year, having so much fun watching Owen grow and develop, it has been amazing!! I never really pictured what my life would be like as a mom, it didn't occur to me that one day that could happen, but now that he is here, I can't imagine life without him!!And not because I haven't slept in over a year, but because it is so wonderful and it is the best think in like to take care of him, help him grow and become the man that we know God has created him to be! It is the best gift :)
Life has been busy!! Right now we are in Philly with Shane. He is working here for the week(he has 5 stores in the area he has to monitor) and we decided to come this time! The ride down was actually pretty fun, Owen was great, and he didn't seem to mind the long car ride so much. Now that Shane is at work, not really sure what Owen and I will do in the hotel room all day, but we will have fun...no doubt about it! Hopefully we will be able to venture into downtown historic Philly one of the days we are here, I would love to see all the history this city has!
Anyways, that is it for now! I just wanted to say hello to anyone out there that my start to follow my blog! Owen and I are gonna go explore the hotel now :)
Be blessed,
Amanda
